PennDOT District 12-0 is working to
improve your drive on U.S. Route 22 in Westmoreland County. The
U.S. Route 22, Section B10 Project involves the reconstruction
of the existing two and three lanes to four 12-foot lanes with
an 18-foot concrete median. The project is 2.3 miles long and
begins at Auction Barn Road (T-693) and continues east to the
Westmoreland/Indiana County line at the Conemaugh River Bridge
near the Route 217 intersection. The project also includes the
construction of a new bridge over Stony Run and a new traffic
signal at the Market Street intersection.
The project was awarded to New
Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. Inc. for a contract amount of
$33,999,522 and the Notice to Proceed was issued on October 3,
2008. The project is anticipated to be completed in the summer
of 2011. .
