See News link.
PennDOT District 12-0 is working to
improve your drive on U.S. Route 22 in Westmoreland County. The
U.S. Route 22, Section B10 Project involves the reconstruction
of the existing two and three lane roadway to four 12-foot lanes
of plain cement concrete pavement with
an 18-foot concrete median. The project is 2.5 miles long and
begins at Auction Barn Road (T-693) and continues east to the
Westmoreland/Indiana County line at the Conemaugh River Bridge
near the Route 217 intersection. A new bridge will be
constructed over “Stoney Run” and a new traffic signal will be
installed at the “Jonnet Road” intersection. The project also
includes paved shoulders, drainage pipe and inlet improvements.
The project was awarded to New
Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. Inc. for a contract amount of
$33,999,522 and the Notice to Proceed was issued on October 3,
2008. The project is anticipated to be completed in the summer
of 2011.
