Traffic
Pattern Change
beginning November 4, 2009
Motorists
will encounter a change in the traffic pattern on the Route
22 project that is currently under reconstruction between
Route 982 and Westinghouse.
All
eastbound and westbound traffic has been traveling in
the eastbound lanes throughout the construction season.
November 3, traffic will be switched to the westbound side
of Route 22 with one lane of traffic in each direction from
Carter Road (22 B-08 limit) on the west end through Auction
Barn Road on the east end (22 B-10 limit of work).
The change
also involves a new temporary signal and crossover for
Carrigan Hill Road with the removal of the old temporary
signal for Route 1029 (the temporary entrance for
Westinghouse Road). Access to Westinghouse Road (and the
Westinghouse Plant) will now be accomplished by using the
newly constructed ramp which is approximately 200 yards east
of Carrigan Hill Road.
A temporary
traffic signal will also be utilized at the intersection of
Route 22 and Route 982. The temporary signal will be
replaced with a permanent signal when the eastbound lanes
are completed.
A reduced
speed limit of 40 mph is in effect through the construction
zone. Please use caution while traveling through the
construction zones.
