The project for this section of
Route 22 was let on December 16, 2004. Golden Triangle, Inc.
was the low bidder and was awarded the project for a contract amount
of $43,877,812.
Approximately 4.1 miles of Route 22 will be widened as a part
of this section of Route 22. From just east of the Cozy Inn Cut-Off
to the Route 22/66 interchange,
Route 22 will
be widened to provide 4 traffic lanes with a median divider.
Openings in the median will be provided to allow for left turn
lanes at intersections.
Construction
activities are expected to slow traffic in the project area,
especially during peak traffic times. No detours are planned, and
access to local businesses and residences will be maintained during
construction.
